Delete your WordSquirrel account

A WordSquirrel account is your Google sign-in plus the dictionary copy synced to the WordSquirrel server. You can delete it from the app, or ask us to delete it here.

In the app

  1. Open Settings → Account & sync on Windows or Android.
  2. Choose Delete cloud data and confirm.

Your other devices sign out and keep their local dictionary. For 7 days you can restore the cloud copy by signing in again; after that it is deleted permanently.

Without the app

Email support@wordsquirrel.org from the Google account you used to sign in, so we can match the request to your data. Subject: “Delete my WordSquirrel account”.

We confirm by reply and delete your data within 7 days; the deletion is permanent. No app needed.

What is deleted

  • The synced dictionary, tags and practice progress stored under your Google account ID on the WordSquirrel server.
  • Your Google account ID and email address on the server.
  • WordSquirrel’s permission to sign you in with Google, so your other devices sign out.

What is kept

  • The dictionary stored locally on your own devices — delete it by uninstalling the app or clearing its data.
  • A deletion marker with your account ID and no other data, so that your other devices learn about the deletion. It holds nothing else.
